Samsung Announces Official US Galaxy Note Launch Date And Price

We've waited for far too long, but our time has finally come. Samsung and AT&T reported the Galaxy Note's official American release date and price, so on the 19th of Feb, you should buy your own Galaxy Note for $300 on contract. That is a big price, but the Galaxy Note is perhaps worth it.

The device is like an upgraded, larger Galaxy S II on steroids, though the Super AMOLED Plus display on the Galaxy S II is significantly better than the Note's Super AMOLED display. That is because of an issue with sub-pixels that's beyond the scope of this piece of writing and my education. Still, the display on the Galaxy Note features a beefy 1280x800 resolution. That's fairly intense for smartphone; it's the kind of resolution you'd see on the monitor of a tiny notebook. And the stylus that is included with the Note is a critical component for artists and business people that need to work, test or jot down ideas free hand while staying mobile.

Sammy confirmed the handset at the start of Sep '11, and the global population's 1st mixed reaction placed doubts in our heads the device would succeed. But then we had to scribble about it, and the more we though about it, the more we were fond of the ideah of a 5-inch, Android slab in our pockets. Then again, we think it will not fit in every pocket, so it's not for everybody. There's something extremely appealing of a little smartphone, though a device like the Galaxy Note can offer a very different experience.

At the end of last year, we also had doubts that it would come to America, but never doubt America's love for everything gigantic. At Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas during January, Samsung debuted the Galaxy Note alternative for AT&T, and that was well received, doubtless. The company even payed artists at a few locations throughout the show to "paint" portraits of attendees on Galaxy Notes to show the capacities of the device.

Finally, at the end of Jan, the company announced the Galaxy Note would hit AT&T's 4G network on the 19th of Feb for $300 on contract. Samsung will also launch the device in Canada at about the same time.

Shipyard employees are protected by a special law called the Jones Act

As California operates some of the most frantic shipping ports in the States, Los Angeles work injury attorneys find that they need to diversify into dealing with workers compensation issues for maritime workers.

Employees compensation for land workers has been about for over one hundred years, and has been successfully compensating staff for injuries suffered whilst at work for this period of time. However when it came to maritime employees, they found themselves under the jurisdiction of admiralty law. This is a law which was primitive in nature and dated back centuries.

Even as little as 70 years back, sailors who were injured at sea found themselves being given a paltry amount of cash which left them financially deficient, whilst recovering from (in a few cases) pretty horrible wounds, to the limit that some could not afford to support their families. In a number of cases, wounds were so harsh that many men never went to sea again and simply could not work either. This regularly left them with crippling debt. However in 1920 this all modified when the Jones act came into being.

The Jones act is classed as a Fed. law and differs from land based employees compensation in that it is negligence based. This means that hurt employees are allowed to seek compensation for any injuries sustained while working, against their employer or any other worker. Land based employees compensation on the other hand, is a 'no blame ' policy whereby provided the employer isn't discovered to be way culpable, there is 'no blame ' attached to the company owner.

Under the Jones act, in order for a maritime employee to receive workers compensation, they must prove the owner of the company or indeed a company employee or immediate boss was negligent in their duties. Additionally as a shipyard employee it is your duty to be conversant with the Jones Act. This is to help become aware about your privileges and rights as a maritime worker.

Are you a maritime worker? Workers comp attorneys Los Angeles explained that shipyard workers are covered the special law called the Jones Act. Read on Farlann Rothman's article about the Jones Act and its significance to a shipyard accident and how accident attorneys can help.

Petit Le Mans will mark Scott Tucker’s anniversary of professional driving debut

The pinnacle of the 2011 American Le Mans series transpires on Oct. 1 with the 14th annual Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta. For Scott Tucker, driver and owner for Level 5 Motorsports, the race marks the beginning of his 6th year of professional racing. In 2006, he made his professional debut at Petit Le Mans, and from that point, his career took off.

"There are not many Americans that get to race there, first and foremost, so I feel very privileged to be among that group," he said. "This year, we're the only American prototype team there. We feel very fortunate we were selected to race there."

The Petit Le Mans race is definitely an endurance race modeled after the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which is its equivalent for the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup series. Road Atlanta owner Don Panoz founded it, and the first iteration ran on Oct. 10, 1998-and Panoz must have had a thing for tens, because the race covers no more than 1,000 miles or a the least 10 hours, whichever comes first. Class winners of Petit Le Mans automatically qualify for the next year's 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Tucker has increasingly concentrated on the American Le Mans Series as his career has continued. After he founded Level 5 Motorsports in 2008, his main actions have included drafting talented veterans noted for incredible precision even at maximum speeds. This year's Petit Le Mans has unofficially been the ultimate goal in Tucker's eyes: Mid-season, he announced the switch from the team's Nos. 55 and 95 Microsoft Office-sponsored LMP2 cars to a brand spanking new, right-off-the-line HPD ARX-01g chassis, the result of a partnership between Honda Performance Development and Wirth Research. Tucker pushed hard to get the car finished immediately, of course with out sacrificing quality. While making the transition between cars, Tucker even withdrew from ALMS races in Lime Rock Park and a huge one at Silverstone in Great Britain, choosing instead to target the all-important Petit ahead.

Now, Tucker has added a fourth professional motorist to his already well-stacked team. Marino Franchitti will join the team and its new car-which Tucker marks as best in its class-for the 2011 race at Road Atlanta. Franchitti has extensive experience with the HPD prototype family, having taken part in the initial year of development of the ARX-01a with Andretti Green Racing before investing some LMP2 time with Dyson Racing. Adding Franchitti to the lineup is an obvious sign that Tucker is headed for that win at Petit Le Mans, though that's never not the case when Tucker enters a race track. He is a three-time national driving champion. Level 5 Motorsports' performance last year during its debut year in the American Le Mans Series sent them to the top podium and bumped them into the LMP2 category.

Tucker has made giant strides since his Petit Le Mans professional debut in 2006, and this year he's probably the most prepared he's ever been. A victory will mean another addition to Tucker's unbelievable record during the past several years, and moving to the LMP1 category means Tucker has made it to the top class in the sport he seemingly was born to compete in. No matter what results wind up meaning for Level 5 Motorsports, the work they've already put in this year make it clear that the team is one of the most prolific, aggressive racing organizations anywhere.

Scott Tucker and his Level 5 Motorsports team review the 12 Hours of Sebring

In mid-March, after having a modest but strong showing at the Rolex 24 at Daytona weeks earlier, the Level 5 Motorsports team made its LMP2 debut. After winning its LMP class in 2010, the drivers nabbed the LMP2 distinction. As has become a bit of a tradition in the past year, the team was working feverishly to finish its entry car in time for the starting flag. In a matter of just days, the Lola Honda was finished and shipped to Florida for its race debut as well as the team's class debut.

Level 5 drivers Scott Tucker, Ryan Hunter-Reay and Luis Diaz split time commanding the racetrack. Tucker told men and women of the media that the 12 Hours of Sebring was a "test run" for the Lola Honda, as it had come straight off the assembly floor, but if Sebring was a test, Level 5 Motorsports scored an A . Even in the face of a several mishaps and issues, the drivers drove strong and finished strong, making up for any mistakes with skillful maneuvering around turns and careful, strategic straightaway shots. The Level 5 Motorsports team secured an LMP2 victory, reliving their LMP success from the previous year. Tucker also won the Champion Driver award at the 12 Hours of Sebring in 2010.

The Lola Honda wasn't the quickest car through the straights, but she shined when the track started to bend. Tucker and Diaz made the first rounds of the Sebring International Speedway and made clear their class dominance quickly. Strong showings from the drivers on the first 2 legs of the race still left work to be done by Hunter-Reay, a Florida native. Hunter-Reay drove the perfect leg, recovering lots of time for the team and ultimately whizzing past the finish line at the front of the pack.

"The team had some issues but made up for lost time," Tucker stated. "Ryan had a grew last few laps." Although the Lola Honda was barely finished before tackling a notoriously grueling 12-hour race, the car didn't show any signs of fatigue or wear at race's end. The team didn't face any mechanical issues, and nary a scratch was visible on the body at the end of the day. "We're pleased with the vehicle performance," Tucker said. "We knew we had a great car, and we're eager to see what we can do with it."

The Level 5 team, and also other entries, donned Japan stickers on their cars to honor the country after the earthquake and tsunami that had occurred in time before the Sebring race.

Expert NFL Picks Can Be Achieved Consistently

It is not easy to make expert NFL picks consistently. The point spread makes it even more challenging. The professionals who are setting the point spreads are the real experts. They have more experience than you and frequently will have inside information that you don't. You can be an expert and lose more often than not. You must be discriminating in the games you choose to pick. The more discriminating you become, the better your winning percentage.

First, you must remember that experts are setting the point spreads. These experts are not only prediction which team will win and by how many points, they are attempting to balance the amount of money that gets beat on each side. They will adjust the spread to adjust the betting. Points spreads will often change leading up to games based on the money being bet. This is often seen prior to Super Bowls. If you see a game that stands out to you when the point spreads are released, bet the game, don't wait.

The second thing to remember is that no matter how much you study and analyze, football is still an unpredictable game. Strange things happen. Weather, turnovers, injuries, and last second scoring are all part of the game. No matter how expert you become, you still lose sometimes when you should win. You also will win sometimes when it looks like you are going to lose.

You never have to pick all the games in a given week. Pick the games you like the best and leave the rest. Pick the games you like best individually or you may be able to pick multiple game on a card. Just remember you don't have to pick every game on a card.

The fourth and probably most important thing to remember is to not get emotionally involved in your picks. If you do you will lose. Do not pick winners based on your favorite teams, colors, mascots or hometowns. You must remain impartial. If you must, avoid games where you are emotionally involved. This is the hardest thing to do. There are countless stories of winners turned into losers on the one pick that shouldn't have been made.

Following these guidelines is no guarantee that you will win, however you will minimize your losses every week and when you have the big week your wins will outweigh any losses over the long run.

If you use these guidelines, you can make expert NFL picks and impress your friends and associates.

3 Local SEO Tips for Your Online Business

If you own a local business with a website, you really want people to be able to find you through the search engines. Given below are a few local SEO tips that will help you on your way to higher rankings.

One of the simplest things you can do to make the most out of local searches is to focus on getting listed with the big boys of the industry. Of course this means Google Maps and Yahoo! Local. These two happen to be the most influential in this area, which is why you should try to get listed with them first, and then get on with the other things. The reason is that if you list with these sites, the search engines and human searchers will always know where to find you and your job will be simple.

The plus point here is that the approval process is quick and doesn't take weeks, unlike Google. Don't forget to do this or else you'll find getting targeted traffic quite difficult. It's important to have distinct landing pages if your business has more than one location. For local sites, the rule is to avoid having more than a single listing for one business, but if the business has more than one location, there is no reason not to have a listing for each one. The crucial point is that each separate location must have its own unique landing page that is obviously about the business in that specific place. What you should avoid is having a home page or single landing page that gets all the traffic from more than one local listing. You don't want to do anything that will confuse search engine users, so your landing pages should match up perfectly with each location. This is something that is worth paying attention to, even if it may not seem that important.

A simple SEO tip that is obvious is linking up with the locals. If you want to succeed as a local business, it's essential to make inroads in your own town or city. To maximize your effectiveness as a local business, you should really focus your efforts on getting well respected and popular businesses and groups in your community to link to your site. The search engines favor sites with a good number of quality backlinks, and getting links from prestigious local sites is the way to get your site highly ranked for location based keywords. You have to convince the search engines that you are a local business that is important in your community. Keep in mind that what you are really looking for in backlinks is not so much the quantity, but relevance and quality. One link from the Chamber of Commerce is better than a 100 links from local blogs.

You should also try to list your business with all of the Yellow Pages and like directories online. You can start off with some of these sites such as YellowBook.com, YelloPages.com and SuperPages.com. A notable thing here is that YellowPages.com gets lots of local searches every month, over 100 million and the best part is that they offer free online listing. Of course, the major sites like MSN and About.com get some of their business listings from SuperPages.com. You can have a very basic listing with them for free.

In summary, these local SEO techniques can be very effective in bringing you more quality traffic. The above techniques work quite well for optimizing your site for local traffic..
