Why Cable Companies Don’t Want You to Read Outdoor/Indoor HDTV Antenna Reviews
You have probably all have heard by now about different reviews for outdoor or indoor HDTV antennas. So what is this all about? An analog signal is one that has been used since the invention of the television. Now we have a better signal, one that isn't going to give out on you during bad weather. Its a more consistent signal that delivers beautiful resolution and its out there on the airwaves waiting for you to discover it.
Digital signals bring clarity and a much sharper picture than its analog predecessor. Viewing television with a digital signal will give you a perfect picture no matter what Mother Nature decides to throw your way. Getting this clear, sharp signal to your home television set is easy; simply install new high definition equipment.
Purchasing the new equipment is cost effective and once the device is installed you will begin receiving better sound and picture at no cost what-so-ever. There are a couple of things you will need to familiarize yourself with before making this purchase. Once you are familiar with them you will be better equipped to decide which device will be the best to suite your needs.
The quality of your reception is determined by a few different factors. First is the distance from your home to your local television station transmitter. Second are the obstacles that stand in the way of that path. A clear path would have no mountain or large buildings obstructing the view. Distance and obstacles mean the difference between needing a large receiver or a small receiver.
Second, you need to familiarize yourself with these two terms UHF and VHF. VHF stands for very high frequencies and generally controls channels two through thirteen. UHF stands for ultra high frequency and this controls channels fourteen and higher.
Depending on which channels you view most, you may be able to purchase a device that is made more specifically for your needs. If all of your favorite channels are between channels two and thirteen you may be able to save yourself some money and purchase equipment that is meant to pick up only very high frequencies or VHF. Should all your favorite channels fall in the higher categories you could purchase a device meant to pick up the ultra high frequencies or UHF. The biggest difference between the two devices is the VHF receiver will be slightly larger than the UHF receiver.
Deciding whether you want indoor or outdoor HDTV antenna equipment is very simple. An outside receiver will be much larger but the benefit is always having the best signal. An outside device will always result in more viewing choices than an inside one. The downfall will be the size, and finding a way to install it on the outside of your home. The benefit of using a much smaller inside device is the convenience of setting it up directly on or in close proximity to the television set. Want to find out more about HDTV products?
