The Big Pain Of Removing A Computer Virus

Oh no! Not again! Another computer virus? So what should you do? You could just reinstall your entire operating system, but this can be a royal pain. You could try to clean it up manually, but this process takes forever, and it's not always reliable.

Also, if you try to just pick out the virus, you will often do more damage to your computer than already has been done. Therefore, you should only use this method if you are one hundred percent sure of exactly what you are doing.

If you look up your problem online, you will have to know the answer to a few questions. Here are three of them: 1. What is the problem exactly 2. When did the problem start? 3. How did it start?

If you are able to figure out the cause of the virus, you are well on the road toward correcting the problem.

If your computer is infected with a virus, don't get online with that computer. Need to search the web to try to self diagnose the computer problem? Use a different computer that has a good anti virus program on it. Remember, if you have a good anti virus program on all your computers, you won't be in situations like the one you are in.

If you think you can remove all the virus files from your computer, you will need to go into the registry of your computer. Be real careful here, you could very easily delete files by mistake. When they are gone, they are only gone if you need them.

If you have another computer that has a really good anti virus program on it that also has an external hard drive, you could try putting the virus infected hard drive in the virus free computer. You could then let the anti virus program identify all the bugs in the system.

If you choose to go this route, make sure your anti virus program has been updated recently, and is high quality. If you don't, you will have two computers with a virus, not just one.
