Winter Skin Troubles? Tips To Heal Your Skin During Winter

For those of you lucky enough to experience the snow, unfortunately, you're also unlucky enough to experience dry, cracked skin, especially your hands, knuckles, legs, feet and lips. Most of you will pick lotions and moisturizers right off the shelf. What you don't know is that most of these products will only worsen your problem.

The most important thing to keep in mind is that dry skin needs water, not oil. Oil or lotions may remove the appearance of dry skin but does not solve the problem at all. You need to drink lots of water during winter because it acts as the body's purifier and freshener. Water is the best answer to have that glowing and healthy skin. It does that by hydrating your skin and body as a whole.

Another thing to do is to eat healthy foods; eating healthy foods results in healthy skin. What you eat will show on your skin; so if you eat fatty foods, then your skin will become oily, but if you eat healthy foods like fruits and vegetables, your skin will be healthy and glowing. Healthy fruits include grapes and melons like watermelons, honeydew and cantaloupes.

Most people utilize lotions and moisturizers in the day time when it's not really effective (people wash their hands, etc.) A nice, quality moisturizer should be used at night after wiping off any make up. It is important not to over wash your hands and face.

The last tip I'll give sounds cliche but has more effect on your skin than you think: stress. While noone can eliminate stress completely from their lives, learn to not take it to heart. Stress appears on your skin and face more than you think. Following these tips and tricks, your skin will return to its healthy self.
